In reverse and mirror position changes

Featured Replies

Hi guys,

My car is the 1.4 TSI DSG which I am a little curious on.

Dealer fitted the black pack mirror caps on, so not sure on wiring been disconnected and reconnected wrong.

But when putting the car in reverse, it seems X/Y coordinates of side mirrors are going wrong on passenger side. It now tilts up and outwards!

Friend mentioned something about putting mirror button in R with car on idle/ignition on, drop car in reverse, adjust mirror, and pop buttong out from R.

Any takers?

Is the mirror pointing down towards the road surface? If so it's a feature to help you prevent keening your alloys when reversing into a parking space and is not a fault at all!

They would not need to remove your mirrors to fit the caps anyway

Eh well no.

The function seems to be there, but the tilt goes totally opposite as it goes up and away from the vehicle...

Put the car in reverse, adjust the mirror to where you want it to be and then turn the mirror switch back to the zero position.

Only if you've got mirrors with memory (which requires seat with memory, which requires leather...).

Now available on the vRS, but was only available on the Elegance to start with.  However, I believe it is something you can enable with VCDS.

Well that explains why i dont have it then. Just a straight Eleg. Nothing extra.

Ah well, I can wouch for the spec. Mine is an elegance, and got memory on drivers side (I'm 1,9m the missis 1,6+ ...).

Officially yes but it can be enabled with VCDS without electric leather seats.  I have it one mine.

Elegance spec after a certain date has it as standard.
