Does anyone know if a metal detector can detect memory cards in grass?

The thing is he knows where abouts he dropped it which should aid him lots.

I'm guessing here but as he said its out of his phone I'm guessing its a micro SD card. Which contains a very small amount of metal, a good enough metal detector could find one with enough time and the sensativity maxed out but your hunting for something 1 cm by 1.5 cm which is mostly plastic and semiconductor. Your more likly to find it by finger tip searching than hunting for it with a metal detector. I'd question if it was worth the effort to be frank.

Would need to be very sensitive, as said there isn't much metal in something that size.

This is one of the reasons I hate Micro SD - far too small and fiddly.

 

Far prefer a decent sized CF card (as in my camera) - no way I can lose that
