new car thoughts

Featured Replies

Looking at getting something new (to me). Has to have at least 4 seats, RWD or 4WD, has to be reliable, capable of 25mpg, lower tax bracket, not have too many inherent issues, be pretty quick and less than £15k.

Currently the 8P Audi S3 and E46 M3 are all I can think of, I prefer the more modern feel of the audi, and the better reliability. Anyone got any other suggestions?

335i was on my list until I heard the turbo wastegates are notorious for failing and aren't cheap!

Cheers

How about a late Golf R32?

I did consider the R32, but performance wise I think the S3 is an all round better car and less heavy on fuel, also R32's are harder to come by.

First Merc looks the business but is on the higher tax bracket. E55 is a touch long in the tooth. My lad would love the SRT but not really my cuppa and Jag XF isn't my style.

Appreciate the suggestions and definitely showed me some cars I hadn't though about previously.

Cheers

C250 or C350 diesels are beasts and probably within your budget. Pretty good mpg for something up with a 330d. Don't know if you're totally against the Devil's oil.

I really like the Merc now, probably because they're not Audi or BMW which are getting a bit common.

Vauxhall VXR8. White one knocking around Stafford which sounds the nuts as it burbles by.

MG ZT 260 or SV (not sure the latter will be found cheap enough though)- both offer something that little bit different

You may struggle to find an un-abused one but always loved the looks of the Evo VI, especially in the Makkinen colours.

I only do 7 miles each way to work so diesel would be a waste really, could always wait a couple more years and get a C63 amg alought that does bugger all to the gallon and costs a mortgage to tax lol

I think I want something a little more modern, I'm getting old lol

Cycle to work if it's only 7 miles then get anything for fun and dont worry bout the mpg

7 miles!

**** the tax, you need a classic V8!

and buy a cheap bicycle for when it breaks down

Most of the time then in my experience of a Stag :notme::giggle:

Insignia VXR supersport estate.

174 MPH top speed

5.6 seconds 0 to 60

27 MPG

Should be able to pick one up in your price range( maybe not a superSport)

The "normal" VXR still does 155MPH though...

Hmmm, might be worth a look, I'm 75% sure I'll get an S3, we shall see though
