Hi Nick, it's not on Autotrader - I expect that's a fraudulent advert.....I'll check it out.......

Any interest at £9,500 ?  Otherwise it'll be going on Autotrader in the next few weeks.  It'll be the best priced* 2010/10 1.8 TSI Elegance out there, with the lowest miles and decent specification

Hi Peanut, I'm actually after the 2.0tdi 170 4x4, so you may ask why I'm replying to your ad!

Because the car looks fantastic - a credit to you sir! Great with the wheels and the spolier.

I'm not too far away from you (Surrey so only up the M3) so will have a think. I really do want the extra HPs of the 170, plus the extra 50 or so that DTUK can put on, as well as 4x4, so probably not going to come to anything, but will put my thinking cap on tonight. Interestingly, the MPG you are achieving with the 1.8 is not a million miles off the real achieved on the 2.0...

GLWTS regardless...

Thanks Zeddicus, it's a really great car and I will probably stay with the brand - I'm thinking estate maybe next time.

The 1.8 TSI is well regarded as a very tuneable engine and you can easily take it to 210bhp with a map I believe.

I stayed away from the diesel because I don't do the miles to justify and the bills tend to be bigger when something goes wrong e.g. DMF, DPF etc.

You are very welcome to come and look and there'll be no pressure sell I promise. Free tea and biscuits too......

Celtic Tuning claim 218bhp and 242 ft lbs of torque with a Stage 1 map!...........

No probs peanut, I'll keep you posted. One influencing factor is will the biscuit selection include milk chocolate hob nobs...? If so, it may just sway it!  :D

I'll be doing around 20k miles a year in it, so even a 5-10mpg difference will probably be worth it for the tdi, but let me have a think!

My wife is a dark choc digestive lady, but I can lay on some hob- nobs for you :-)

Hi Peanut,

I'm afraid that I'll not be going any further with yours. Such a hard decision as the spec is exactly what is want right down to the spoiler, however i do need the td and would like 4x4 too.

Real shame but I'm sure you'll get a great price from anyone who comes to view it!

Good luck
