The garage that did the work should guarantee their work

Seat Skoda VW and Audi rebuilt engines in Twinchargers until 2011 then started using short engines and then Full Units so best see who was paying for the cheap fix.

So what would be your advice to me? Continue to try and make a claim for the oil spray mod by contacting seat?

YES !!!

Here is a pic

Stealth car . . . nice ;)

Just got off the phone to seat case manager he acted clueless about this oil mod. Explained I knew skoda and Audi had done work at no cost. He said to me I should get a diag test done and if it fails a seat technician will explain what mod needs doing and seat themselves will then discuss % of the cost they will cover depending on my cars service history. Basically they aren't paying! My car doesn't have much seat history and is basically just within the handbooks oil consumption so I doubt it would even fail the test

There are things you can do first.

?

How long have you had the car, how many miles covered and what oil do you keep adding?

Unless you have done an oil and filter change,  do one.

Put in 3.6 litres of 5w 40 Full Synthetic to meet VW 502 00.

Then be aware of where the Oil level is with a Cold Check and a Hot Check.

Run the car at least on 97 ron Super Unleaded, but preferably 99 Ron.

Then monitor closely how much oil the Engine Does use.

If the person before paid Cash for the Engine Work, rebuild, Breather Update and Software Update then those parts bought

have a 2 year Warranty on them.

First see what oil you are using with 5w 40 Full synthetic used,

and do not overfill with oil.

Then you can see just what the Dealership that did the work has to check,

or Skoda UK might need to look at contributing to do a fix, because when the work was done VW had not

yet come up with the change of Oil Spray jets as a Fix.

(no guarantee that is a fix if the Pistons and Rings that VW supplied were the same guff ones that were

failing still when VW Refurnished engines.

good luck.

Why do you think that Skoda UK might consider contributing towards a fix on a 2010 Seat Ibiza?

Because smart ar53 i made a Typo.

Any picture of your car yet? <Snip> Troll on and any useful contribution or can you pass on any experience of these engines or a solution to the members issues<snip >

re post #14

You say that the car is using about 1 litre in 900 miles.

Even a Seat employ or the Hand Book can mention 0.5 Litres in 1000 km (621 miles) as being a VW , Seat , Audi, Skoda acceptable oil usage.so that would be 1 litre in 1,242 miles.

You need to read the Owners Manual again, ask whoever you are talking to, and monitor oil usage.
