Buying advice

Featured Replies

I presently have a 2012 Octavia Vrs CR manual estate but I am thinking of getting something bigger due to 3 tall kids.

I like the Superb estate with 170 diesel and DSG.

My question is, are there any issues with this car that are not present in the Octavia????

I do 25K miles per year at the moment, so is the DSG reliable??

Dsg is amazing. Not had anything to really moan about with the superb. It's got a big bonnet so stone chips are really visable on dark colours!

Superb is not that wide for 3 persons in the back seat. So take it for a test drive and try to sit your kids in the back.

Otherwise it is proper family car and if you want it can deliver some sort of sporty ride (but don't be overoptimistic, it is a big car and 170 HP / 350 Nm is not a miracle).

^ What he said ^

Not massively wide for 3 in the back, but plenty of legroom if they are tall

Best scenario is they are tall and thin lol

Test drive as said will tell

Other than that, no real problems (unless you believe the anti dsg brigade)

But great engine, great ride and best car ive ever had by far (and I've had a fair few)

Best of luck

What they said !!!!

Can't comment on the Estate or DSG, as I have a 170 Combi Elegance manual. I found it is very narrow for 3 adults in the back for a long journey. I actually bought the Superb becasue our son is tall (5' 10" at 13 years) and we wanted a hatch. Test drive is the only way to tell.

As Damo, and may others have said, the best car I have ever had
