Remaps....

Featured Replies

In theory, someone looking at a remap would keep the car up to date service wise.

Gaining an extra 40hp for example is obviously going to show any weak points.

If you can afford a remap, you can afford to keep up with maintenance.

Geeesss, miss a few days on here and my name is mud. If you do a live remap accuracy in the reading is the aim your airflow reading is pretty important, try a cheap Chinese maf for comparison and you'll see the difference. You think your maf is as accurate as it was when it left the factory? Not dirty at all then? Yeah sure it is. Fueling will be away to feck. Get a new Bosch one, return yours for a refund. Simple.

Your tb should be cleaned, again for accuracy in mapping.

Oh yeah, recirculation valve, yeah, plastic or metal? You decide which it best.

If you've a problem with any of this, grand, this is a FORUM. Clue in the name.

Plastic recirc is more than capable despite what you think.

I'd happily flash your ECU if you were local, or can email you the file if you get your own cable.

Cables are on eBay, sort of a gamble though wether they work properly or not.

If you're local, I could connect to your ECU, read your original map file and save it. Than flash the remap file.

Im curious what software is used to read the map file lol. Im already mapped but it would be interesting to read the map file or have someone who knows what there looking at read it lol

To read your file, download Nefmoto software. You will need a k-line cable or genuine Ross-tech cable

Thanks kentphil much appreciated

Cheers mushtafa. I have a cable i use with vcds, whether its suitable with this i dont know but will have a go :)

So i downloaded the program, although i think it may need to be licenced?

It connected to my car with my cable but whether or not the cable is suitable for what its designed for i dont know

It looks like your cable is good, it's connected.

On that flashing tab, select your memory layout, than press full read. It normally takes about 3 minutes to read the file from the ECU.

What MAP do you have? Some commercial tuning companies encrypt the files.

My map was done by a mobile guy as part of a groupbuy on UKPASSATS. Funnily enough he used this very program to do it lol.

What do you mean by memory layout? Sorry for been uber thick

Once you're in the flashing tab, there are two drop down menus. One is for memory layout, and one is to select your new map file. (If you were writing to it).

Select the memory layout for the ECU. You need AM29F800

Thank you mushtafa mate. Will see what happens :)

When i choose memory layout it takes me to browse my computer for files

There should be a folder named memory layouts, look under nefarious motorsports. It normally defaults to the correct folder.

These files dont seem to of installed :(

Ooo done it. Although the files 29F800 end in BB or BT

I think they're pretty similar from memory, I need to check, but think it's the BB you want

Thank you mate i appeciate all your help

What is yours mapped for?

Its just a generic stage 1 map however i suffer from that annoying on/off pulsing boost problem higher up the revs. Just wanted to read it and maybe post it to see what the crack is and if it can be tweaked or if i should get it re-done at one of the big names

so did you remove your ecu and send it to him? Its only £131 for that! Unbelievable really.

Yep easy peasy
