electric windows

Featured Replies

well,i found two broken wires between the front drivers door and the body, repaired then and the windows worked for a minuet or two,i now find ,if i remove the connector blocks from the base of the window motor, wobble the bit on the base of the motor and reconnect the blocks, that the windows work again for a short while, does this point to the circuit part is at fault ?

Hi, I can only point you to a thread I posted in Fabia 11 section regarding electric window probs, I'd point you to the info provided regarding 're-setting' once the windows have been re-powered up, it maybe of some help. Unfortunately I ended up having to replace the drivers door motor, which is a bit of a kick in the wotsits as its the pcb thats at fault yet you have to source the whole unit........

best of luck regards Dave

If you remove the motor, and seperate the two parts by gently releasing the plastic tabs, you will see two pins inside which make the ECU to motor connection.  It's possible these need a bit of a clean, since they essentially just a push fit into the ECU part of the housing.

Just as an aside, I sourced a cheap replacement from ebay for my front drivers door motor, it was from an '02/'03 Polo passenger side with the same part number.  Works perfect, except,,, in reverse direction... The only consequence is I can't use the door key lock to lower/raise both windows, one goes down, other goes up.  But a cheap fix otherwise.
