Pre/Post FL Roofracks

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Just a quick question. I am on a mission to find some rood racks for my 2010 Octavia vRS and have been offered some genuine skoda ones. My only concern is that they are marked 2004 on -> Will these fit a 2010 or was there any changes to the roof 2004 to 2010. I know the FL was 2009 on but was there a new model 2004-2009 and if so did the roof change?

Thanks

On a web site for seiling stuff in norway this guy advertises for roof racks for octavia. Will fit 04-13 he says. Original skoda http://www.finn.no/49351848

Thanks for your help Alsomme but that advert is for roof rails. I am after some roof bars (I notice there is some on that website for £65 equivalent which seems a good price!)

Sorry just realised I have called this topic roofracks which doesnt help. Mod could you update to roof bars?

:)))

Yes for a Hatchback. (this would be so easy if they were for an estate as there are hundreds of roof bars out there second hand!)

Ok done a little sleuthing and I think this proves the roof hasn't changed - If someone can confirm my reasoning!?

I have been onto roofbox and checked what Thule sets they recommend for 2004 - 2009 and for 2009 - 2013 octavias (they are listed separately)

Both come up with exactly the same sets. Therefore a set of 2004 onwards OEM Skoda Bars should fit correct?

I expect they are listed separately because of the facelift, but as far as I'm aware the roof shape didn't change as part of the fl as it was only front-end and rear changes exterior-wise. The thule website lists the same parts for the pre and post-fl cars. I have a set of the thule bars for my pre-fl and am happy with them.

Brill I think I'll take the punt. If they don't fit I can always move them on or bring them to the national meet to see if anyone wants them.

Thanks to both of you guys for pointing those out.

Looking to go second hand to save a few £££ and as they wont be used too often.

shhhh lets not go highlighting the ebay ones too much eh  :D  (yes I have seen and watching) might pounce on those like a ebay ninja

Did you buy the eBay ones...?!?!?!

BARGAIN!! Wish I'd put a bid in now.

I am still smarting about this. Turns out my ninja skills are nothing short of a fat man in a dressing gown.

Kept reminding myself to put a bid on. Went out on a stag do as best man. Forgot until the last few mins then couldn't get a signal to put the bid on. Would have gone up to a decent price too.

So mad with myself. If I was a teenager I would say FML. Someone has got a bargain there.  :envy:

Ha oh noooo! I didn't bid on them caus I thought you were getting them and didn't wanna push up price for you! I would've had them as spares or sell on for a bit of cheeky profit! I think he didn't title it very well omitting 'Octavia'. Hhhhmmmm, £16 for roof bars, don't think they'll be many cheaper than that for a while!! Onwards and upwards as they say :D
