Fabia vRS Whats fell off yours?

Featured Replies

In the last week our one month old VRS has suffered from:

Trim falling off of door.

Petrol cap not closing.

Rattling from passenger side sun visor area.

Rattling from suspect wing mirror.

Can anyone beat this?

Sound like you got a Friday afternoon car there mate

Nothing so far, touch wood, mines 5 weeks old. I have a couple of small chips in the windscreen, driver's side wouldn't you know, and a nice chip in my silver bumper which I noticed yesterday after washing her. Removed 3 stains from the interior too, so chuffed with that. I was worried about the bluetooth car kit that got installed the other week resulting in rattles, but its been grand, even when I walked in on the bloke doing it half way through and most of the front console was missing, slightly worried at that point, but he did a good job in the end, very neat.

Nowt falling off mine. It's like it's been carved out of solid graphite or something. 6 months and as good as the day I picked it up

Not a vRS, but on my Elegance:

- engine undertray fell off

- heated seat packed up

- clutch pedal "snapped"

- track rod end worn

- air con packed up (evaporator sensor)

- loose driver's seat base/seat

- dash rattles

- squeaking behind air vents

Also not convinced the heated mirrors were working correctly as they didn't seem to get as warm as other manufacturer's cars did, but that seems to be a Skoda thing :D

Will be interesting to see how other owner's cars fair with >60k miles to see if mine was a one off :D

What make and cost? I'm thinking of getting a Parrot CK3100

robbo51, it's a sony eric hcb 300, I think it costs

When I picked mine up, the metal pedal cover had fallen off the accelerator and was in in the door pocket :o Managed to wedge it on somehow and has been 'reet ever since. Ive got a creaking coming from the steering wheel when turning, a small buzz from the dashboard and a loud, annoying buzz from the Alpine stereo I bought (Obviously not the car at fault!)

But I can live with these (apart from the buzzing faceplate on the stereo- needs sending back) I used to have a Fiat!

Mine take a while too

funny how cars vary with problems, bought a VW polo 1.0 years ago, next day wipers packed up week later door lock fell apart. then funny noise from the engine, was the cam chain tensioner, or so they said, then cleaning it noticed a sshadow on the roof turned out to be a paint defect, specialist from vw came out, said it was the primer showing through the paint, so they resprayed the roof, I wasnt amused on a new car, was a crap job could see small marks in the paint, throughout all these probs was phoning vw customer service they didnt want to know just said theyd fix the car as per the warranty, in the end got so ****ed off went to the suppliying dealer on a busy saturday lost my rag in a showroom full of people, they couldnt get me up into to the office quick enough, then strangely enough on the monday got a call to say theyd replace the car

got another new 1.0 litre polo. then with 1500 miles on the clock started rattling, ended up the gearbox was knackered, I kinda gave up by then, didnt loose my rag, had a new box fitted, then 1 wek later a woman smashed into the back of it and caused 1000 pounds of damage.

had it fixed then pxed it for a 1.4 polo, which was probably the car i should have bought, had it 8 years and nothing ever went wrong. reckon its a mater of luck sometimes when buying a new car.

had my VRS since april seems ok , but by my past expierence im a little wary, guess its still half a VW, just hope there customer service are better

Ok i dont own vRS, but i have got a 1.4 16v comfort now W reg solid and still tight, nothing rattles squeeks or has fallen off to do with the interior or exterior- one heated miror doesnt work but no the end of the world everything is still fixed 74k on the clock well chuffed about the quality :)

The interior plastic trim infront of the passenger door handle fell off after about 2 miles. A hefty thwack and it's stayed in place since. Other than that just a creaky drivers seat and an occaisional rattle from the drivers door lock (which strangely my previous VW Bora did as well!).

2.0

-Undertray fell off

-Engine-mount snapped

-Some plastic thing on the passenger side under the dash fell off yesterday, got it fixed back

-Doors fell out

-Wheels came loose

-Engine bonnet opened while driving at high speeds

Must have been nice to have your bonnet open at speed  Hope that was fixed.

I've had the filler cap cable come out, but that I think was caused by fitting the noise killer materials. FOC fix by dealer, could have done it myself in about 5 mins.

Plastic insert on passenger side fell out (twice in total). First time I dropped it back in myself, second time dealer did it (and probably glued it ;) ). It's just the insert that on the driver side holds the mirror controls.

With regards the heated mirrors - they only work if you have the rear window heater on I believe, and set the mirror control to the middle position.

Dealer snapped off something on the battery box but that wouldn't have happened without dealer intervention, just one of those things. No other issues to report :D 16k on the clock since I bought it

I tried all manner of combinations and couldn't get them warm to the touch. I did post on here, but people seemed to think that was normal so I didn't pursue it :D

Could you not tell I was kidding about the last three?

I've actually seen it happen to another car..quite scary, it just opened and snapped back onto the guys windscreen...the road I was on has 6 lanes, he was out on the 6th far right and I was on the second lane to the left, and I just heard this extremely loud 'BANG' and next thing you know you see a car on the highway moving with an open bonnet...hilarious but scary..!

The birds shi* doesn't fall off mine. it seems to stick on quite well. :)

Nope, you put the mirror onto top position and the rear screen doesnt make any difference. Thats what the manual says and thats what I've experienced. Mine is a 51 reg mind so it may have changed.

nowts fallen off mine at all :D

Bonnets lifting up at speed seems to be a Bini cooper thing, happend to my mates new mini about 4 times!! 80mph then bonnet flips up! dangerouse :thumbdwn:

Well not a vRS but had the fuel filler flap fail on mine. Seems a far too often failure after reading this site :thumbdwn: Still was fixed FOC. Apart from that have been well happy :D
