Fabia vRS Whats fell off yours?

Featured Replies

Nothing gone wrong here exept the aircon pipe bursting after about 100 miles...duff connection somewhere.

Other than that the car is f*cking spot on no rattles or things to get me annoyed.

Bolt from an engine mount

Engine undertray cover. Had a bit of help.

Due to have a new rear wiperarm fitted

Some bushes on the front are soon to be done

CV is leaking. Soon to be fixed.

All on a 30K miles. Dealer is excellent.

Filler cap, gear lever rattle. Cap fixed at first service, gear rattle doing on friday.

Amazing how many VAG group cars I see with the filler caps hanging open now it's happened to me - really common fault :thumbdwn:

16k on clock (6k of which mine) and not noticed a thing yet  I know not vRS as thread says... but other than bumpers and power etc etc its the same car!

9months and 13000m minor intermittant squeak. otherwisw very solid... love it :)

  • 1 year later...

Numbers 1 and 4 keep falling off my radio! Replacing it with a Sony HU at the weekend anyway. Other than that, nothing to report.

I tried all manner of combinations and couldn't get them warm to the touch. I did post on here, but people seemed to think that was normal so I didn't pursue it :D

Chris

mine are very warm to touch after a minute of switching them on. they are better than any previous car I have had.

nothing fell off my 6 month old VRS yet....

8 days old, 720 miles, only rattle is the cr*p in my glovebox.

Oh, and the stutter (but the stutter thread seems to have some good news on that score)...

Apart from that, very pleased.

Not a vRS , but a 1.4 mpi Comfort , very early 2000 on a V plate...nothing has fallen off it , but it did need a new power steering rack @ only 33000 miles (but 6.5 years old) , I don't know if the rack is the same in the other models of Fabia , if it is , some of you may experience problems later down the line , unless the part has been changed / is different. (£670 to fix mine...ouch)

Well she's coming up to 5 months old and has 6,400 on the clock...... So far the probs have been.....

1. Xenons too low (done by dealer)

2. Glovebox door rattled (sorted it myself)

3. Drivers door rubbers make a noise when going over bumps (To be dealt with)

4. Clutch pedal makes a creaking / clicking noise when used. (To be dealt with)

5. The sound-proofing stuff that goes around the back of the pedals on the bulk-head fell off and is currently in the boot so i can show the dealers what it is when i take it in. (To be dealt with)

6. The very occasional stutter....... Don't know whether it's cos 90% of my driving is motorway driving but i hardly ever get the stutter.

Cheers

Dave.

Fabia 1.4 MPI, 2002, 48K miles (24K of which i have driven).

Nothing has fallen off, but:

- Creaky dash at times

- Creak when starting and stopping, dash or front suspension.

- Have had 2 front bushes fixed, 140

VRS 18,000 miles - that little piece of plastic in front of the front passengers door handle, and the clutch pedal cover. Just popped each back on myself, and they have stayed put. Also, have something vibrating from the rear of the car....not the seats, or the parcel shelf. I think it is the plastic covering the interior of the boot lid, but haven't got round to sorting it out.

Elegance 1.4 16v - 70,000 miles - nothing whatsoever. However, the wing mirror heaters are not as efficient as they used to be. They seem to have deteriorated with time.

i have a 1.4 8v comfort and the problems so far:

new power steering rack

leaking rear doors

dash rattle

glovebox rattle

exhaust heat shield hanging off

rear jet wash leaking into car

front bushes creaking

and also the drivers seat has started to come loose and i dont think the heated mirrors work. i also crashed it they are very strong cars.

on the subject of heated mirrors how do you get them to work and how do you know they are working? i thought you switched them to the top position to make them work, the mirrors on my car are not warm to touch or anything!

1.4 8v MPI - Only owned it 2 months.

So far..

Leaking Doors

Failed aircon

ARB replaced

creaking dashboard

rad fan switch leaking coolant

..also looks like the temp gauge sensor is on its way out

intermittent flickering of headlights, not all the time which is annoying and doesn't even seem to be related to heavy batery drain.

For all this, it's not a half bad car, relatively comfy to drive, acceptable MPG and more solid on the road than my old Felicia.

my bumpers falling off:rofl:

noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

i'm glad i found this thread, been wanting to air my woes for a while now, 2004(54) fabia, 42k miles. owned from 6 weeks old or 1k miles - are you all ready?

new water pump

new wheel bearing

alloy wheel stuck on, specialist in to remove it

plastic inside steering column came loose

new gearbox mounting

new gearbox linkage

anti-mooing kit had to be fitted

gearbox rattle kit had to be fitted

strut bolt threaded, needed new NSF strut top mount

new seat base

rear drums had corroded, replaced under warranty

coolant leakage, replaced some pipework

rear boot rust - resprayed

front bumper bubbling - resprayed

new rear bumper due to someone hitting me from behind (doesnt really count but thought i'd list it)

phew.....i think that's most of it.

now all that needs doing is:

seats need cleaning big time

need new floor mats

needs a general very very good clean.

coolant leaking again.

since the gearbox mounting has been fixed, something is vibrating inside the engine bay when stood still (idleing) and when clutch dipped, as soon as I set off it goes again. I think this might be just be the airbox hitting the strut brace though.

Nothing dropped off and nothing rattles. rear inner door seal replaced under warranty as it was letting water in. 2005 model at 31k

Cars great :)
