Hi lads I know that a lot of lads fitted 1400 16v engine in a felicia I have a 1400 8v fitted but found a 16v lupo engine what hp are these engine and how much more then the 8v engine is worth doing?? I all so was think of a 1600 because the class in the n Ireland rally championship goes form 1400 8v & 16v are in with the 1600 8v cars you need a good 1400 to get near a 1600 engine what 1600 vw engine would fitted are would I be better of with a good 1400 16v

If it's a Lupo GTi engine, it should be 100bhp.

 

I had a fairly highly tuned 1400 8v from a Fabia in my Felicia rally car - head, cam, tubular exhaust, TB's, kit car inlet manifold, dual injectors etc.  It made 116bhp.

 

My 16v 1400 AFH motor, with a similar spec (but single injectors) makes 161bhp.

We run a 1.6 16v avy lupo gti in ours. Similar to fit to the 1.4 but the engine mount itself is different
