Fabia vRS 10k "service"

Featured Replies

I booked my car in for it's first "service" for this Wednesday & it's going to cost me

BTW, Audi dealer labour rates are more expensive than Skoda (

2-3 hours? I asked them what time would be the latest I can bring the car in & they said 4pm. Can't see them spending that long on it after 4....

I asked the dealer on the phone if I could supply my own oil & they said definitely not because of these new 'regulations' :(

Thanks for the reply, I guess I'll just have to swallow the cost. Just seems like a huge amount for an oil change.

Did you ask for a "lube" service or an "annual" service? Lube is just an oil change, annual is an oil change + inspection.... :D

Made it very clear that it was the 10k first service (ie oil change), then asked them to clarify what it entailed and why it cost so effing much. They never mentioned anything about an inspection. Do you get one at the 10k mark? I guess I should read the manual properly.... :)

for my 10k it cost 90quid.... oil, filter and labour.... no inspection dont. They said they would do it while i wait (so they wouldnt give me a courtesy car), they said 45min and actually took 1hr 30.

i hate the way they charge over the counter prices for the oil, surely they get it in bulk!

20k service and 12month inspection was 220quid!

...at Gloucester Skoda (Robert Bamford)

My v/RS is going for a 10k service next week. I haven't asked about the price, wouldn't really matter to you as I live in Finland, but the mechanic said it's an oil change and takes about 30 mins. I can wait at the dealers for him to do the job.

So

10,000 mile service (oil change) shouldnt cost more then

10,000 mile service (oil change) shouldnt cost more then
Mine is a company car - I'm sure it said

Think I'll go to my usual servicing place for my "10k" [cough!]

Oil filter + oil -

THis has been done to death recently, but you need to have an annual inspection each year or 20k miles, whichever if sooner. If you do 20k miles a year, you just need a lube service for the 10k which is around 70-80 quid :D

I think this is the third thread this week for this. Agreed 10,000 lube service then full service 20,000 or 12 months whatevers sooner.

Personally I find it wonderful that a mechanic can spend 2 to 3 hrs scrutinising my vehicle every time it goes into a dealer for a service. No wonder the prices are high. It is commendable that each and every one of them can only really service two cars a day if you take lunch breaks into account.

I'm perfectly willing to stump up hundreds of pounds secure in the knowledge that every nut and bolt on my car has been checked before it is returned to me.

Not like that bunch of cowboys I once used who only took half an hour to change the oil and service my car when I had a more mainstream mode of transport. Although they did seem very efficient they couldn't have done such a good job as they only charged me

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I think I'll call round a couple of other dealers to see how the price differs.

I got a 10K annual service with inspection for

I am going to dao the Annual at the end of October when the car gets to 10k as I find it easier to do this rather than getting a 12 month service 4 months later.

Presume the servicing reminder either comes up at 10k or one year, which ever arrives first.

Yes but from what people say that should only be a lube service... no inspection.
