Symphony Hend Unit and 6xCD changer tied together?

Featured Replies

I've a great car in my 2003 1.9 tdi Octavia Elegance Estate 110, however the cd autochanger has ceased to work, if I can source a suitable replacement autochanger will this work still with my existing symphony head unit or are the two units tied in someway? I've read in another thread that the autochanger and head unit must be kept as an original pair so if I need a new changer I would also need the matching head unit from the same car, is this true?

If so, I may well look to replace both with something better, without breaking into savings etc what would be good to look for, suggestions welcomed from anyone with mk1 octavia and I don't mind looking at used items either :-)

Thanks for reading, Clive.

Seriously mate ditch the idea of a replacement multi changer and join the 21th century and get a head unit that supports a ipod dock and do away with all CD's.

of course, yep, cheers for that, most helpful...current circumstances don't allow for a new head unit, i'm trying to improve what I have with what I can, I suggest if you can't be of any help then just do one pal!
