Wind drone noise!

Featured Replies

When i'm going 80+ i sometimes get a real drone noise coming in from the car. It doesn't happen all the time but if i put the front window down a little it goes away so i'm guessing it's a wind issue and not a wheel bearing etc.

Is there anyway of sorting this as it is driving me crazy!?

it may be the rubber around the doors can you hear where its coming from ?

Can't figure out where. I'm assuming it's either front window as when i put either of them down a little it goes away.

I have a similar issue between 70 &80 I hear it, when I go beyond 80 it seems to disappear. It is no treated to engine noise so I assume it is some sort of vibration or exhaust issue.

As most of my driving on the motorway it is in that 70 to 80 area so can be annoying as you are looking to edge faster to quiet the noise down.

What is the tread like on the rear tyres?

A very common issue on the MkII Octavia vRS.
