Featured Replies

Hi, looking to get the windows tinted on the Superb, but the guy l went to said l would need to remove the rear shelf before he would even think of doing it for me, my question is does anyone know just how l might go about this and if it is a tough or easy job

Thanks in advance for any help ye can give me on this

Depends if you mean the trim that covers the shelf or the actual shelf itself, look up from inside the boot and you will see the metalwork that forms part of the structure of the car, obviously this aint going no-where!!

Does your superb have the split fold seats? if so it shouldn't be to much trouble to remove the trim, if not - good luck, you'll need it!!

I can understand why he doesn't want to entertain it, even cleaning the back window can be a difficult process sometimes, I guess its cos you have to stretch so far to reach the bottom of the glass and its quite a narrow angle too.

Hey Bryan make sure they don't get some free advertising space on the back window. They may put it between Tint & Window ;)

Knowing what a cow the rear window is to clean, the only suggestion I can make is to tint the glass with the rear window removed, then have it re-bonded back into place. I'm afraid I cant see any other way of getting a decent finish.

I had my rear window tinted, and had no grief from the guy who did the tints whatsoever.

I guess there's a bit of advice there then - A true professional will do the job and do it well.
