Returning to Skoda ownership after over 6 years!

Featured Replies

Hello Guys and Gals,

Not sure if any of you lot remember me but I owned a Coridda Red Mk1 Furby VRS back in Jan 2008 for a short while but had to sell it due to personal issues, I sold it to "Damo" off here and have been on and off the forum ever since with a few cars.

I am a car forum slut and go on quite a few different forums, I have had a string of cars since I sold my last Fabia too many to mention including 2 x Integras, A few mint E36 BMW 328I sports, A MK5 Golf GTI Edition 30 last year but mainly very rare Swedish performance cars which I have restored/renovated and sold on. Google my username bonelorry to see.

Anyway I have been a Manager since Feb 2007 a National chain Garage not Kwik Fit! And after a rough few years at work and my company being bought out by a much larger rival company who have decided to asset strip I made the very difficult decision jump off the sinking ship and pursue a job that I have wanted to for many years which is working on the railway.

So here I am, I applied and went through the very tough recruitment process, Did all my assessments, Had my medical and got offered a job working for Northern Rail as a Train Guard and start August 4th...I cant wait!

With the new job comes quite a bit of commuting for the first 3 months from my home to Leeds and then I will be based in Sheffield permanently so I needed to buy myself a Diesel of some sort, I am used to 300BHP turbo petrol cars but my practical head told me to be sensible, Not spend too much and get something economical for a while and since I am quite hard to please I opted for another MK1 Fabia VRS.

After looking on and off for the last month since selling my Saab 9-3 Viggen I found one today on Autotrader at a dealer in Ripon that ticked all the right boxes...

Full Service History all main dealer except one done at an indy, Last serviced in 20th June this year @ 69707. Had 2 x timing belts, One in 2009, One in 2013.

HPI Clear

One owner from new

12 months MOT and a little bit of Road tax remaining

Comes with a 3 month warranty also...Dont worry I know all about warranty companies

Picking it up on Monday afternoon hopefully so will make a thread in the relevant section, Future plans it will be getting a full detail when I get it but other than that I will most likely just keep it standard.

Hopefully get to a few of the local meetings at some point also.

Thanks Simon

Well I picked the car up from Ripon at Lunchtime, Enjoyed the drive home and the 60mpg too  I am used to 30mpg in previous cars so its a bit of a luxury getting some decent economy.

Thanks Simon
