Is it normal for an older Octy to have more power than a newer one

Featured Replies

In other words, an 01 (Y) having 110 hp and an 02 (51) having 90....I asked the seller of the 01 and said yes that's right. I thought they'd have been the same, as I didn't think they got 110 hp till about 03/4 I can pm someone the reg's if they check them

My 2001(Y) is a 110, and 110s were available pretty much right from the start I believe.

The 02 (51) 1.9 is the sdi according to wiki and the slowest

Just found the sdi is the non turbo so forget that, no wonder it felt like a slug, I'll stick to the tdi

The 1.9 TDI was available with both 90 and 110 hp right from the start of the Octavia being available.

Then in early 2003 the PD130 became available.

The SDI is much slower than even the 90 HP ALH.

Indeed, just as SoftScoop said.

The PD130 was introduced to the top trim levels - Elegance and Lauren & Klement only until the rollout where Skoda gave the option of the PD130 in the Ambient SE...
