is there a mass recall or do the just fix them when they break? what happens if you car is modded will the still fix it?

Haven't heard of anyone with a modded engine being refused a replacement coil pack.

Kenny, There's been a great deal of debate on many VAG forums re: coilpack failures. I believe that only VAG in the States are re-calling and the rest of us have to lump it. I've not suffered a failure *touch wood* and as far as I'm aware the dealer will only replace the faulty unit and not replace them all.

Regarding mod's I'm sure by the letter of the warranty rulebook any engine mod's will invalidate the warranty but it depends on your relationship with the dealer and the mod's you have had done....

Some of us that have modified car's are lucky enough to have a good relationship with our dealers - so we don't have a problem
