Thanks for info, advice etc.

Featured Replies

Superb estate sold on Monday, so just a post to say thanks to all who have provided info and advice I have received on this forum over the last 3 1/2 years of ownership. :)

It's run without missing a beat, however, I still needed advice on things like sat nav upgrades, views on tyres etc so it's been a useful place to visit. You never know I may return in a few years time.

Thanks again

Steve

I may have mussed it elsewhere but what's next?

Nice wheels Steve. They're rolling out some nice motors again.

Yeah, I'll be looking at the Mk3 superb or E class next tine

Cheers Jake, and yes they are. It also comes with a lot of kit as standard, which is a change from a while ago.

Yeah, I'll be looking at the Mk3 superb or E class next time.

I did think about another Superb and even an Octavia VRS estate, but order delays on VRS coupled with 20% discount off list helped to sway it in direction of e-class.

That Merc looks really nice. The AMG and Sport versions look great now compared to a few years ago. Good luck with it!

Thanks, with the facelift, the interior changes make it a good place to sit too...

Very impressive!  Looks like a place you'd want to spend a lot of time.  Hope those cream carpets hold up for you! How would you rate the build quality versus the Superb.

Seeing that photo of the back seats gave me a shudder - my kids would trash that in no time. Black interior for me for a while longer :-(

A bit too early to say yet. The materials are a step up and grade of leather is better, but to be fair, they are step up from Merc a few years ago ;)

My superb seemed to be well screwed together, so they seem to be on on par there, with both having a solid quality feel when you shut the doors.

The ride is certainly better than the Superb, and you don't get the horrible pot hole crash on the 18's that you do with the Superb on the lower profile tyres.

I had the same light leather and carpets in a couple of range rovers and they held up well with 3 young children and a Labrador. The three teenagers tend to make less of a mess now, but we have two labs now, so yes we will have to see how it goes :)

Carpets and mats have already had the I1 treatment and leather covered in L1 too, so hopefully they will hold up well with the added gtechniq protection.

cheers, Steve

Had that on an M5 and a Range Rover about twelve years ago and never used it. So it would be way down my priority list, although I do like the look of the facelift L&K with the Sirius alloys. :)

I do hope you're not going to get all ex-owner critical on the Skoda :notme:

The pothole thing isn't 18's it's VAG and the way they build the car low to the ground, my your pet hate car sits on 18's and rides the holes and bumps fine,

One of the lads at work has an E class, while I like the outside style the inside didn't grab me tbh, it's a whole lot nicer than the C class inside but still has that bland German thing going on,

Anyway I hope it pleases you and tbh prices wise you'd be silly to buy a Skoda, iirc my mate gave £22k for his E @ 1 year old and that's the same money as an Elegance Superb which is one of the primary reasons for my comments, the cars might be reasonably good cars but VAG as a company isn't, they assrip you on the second hand market and don't really want to know when it comes to sorting things out when they go wrong.

I'm waiting for the new XF myself :sun:
