Cheap set of roofbars for Mk3?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Yay, first post.

Just taken delivery of a new 2014 Skoda Octavia Estate SE 2.0 TDI.

Cant seem to find any cheap Aluminium roof bars.

All the one listed on eBay say not compatible even though they just clamp on right?

Can anyone here recommend a set?

Thanks

Mark

I had to get new bars as the width / girth of the bars are considerably larger than my old passat, I got the Skoda originals given, otherwise recommend Thule.

I went for Hardcastle racks off amazon.  135cm length.  £40.  They will fit the estate.

One small problem I had with them was that the keys to unlock them are a bit stiff.  Spray of WD40 and now they are moving freely.

I'm only going to use them occasionally so didn't need super expensive ones.

Perfect, thanks. I was looking at those on eBay

Your local lidl may have the ones I bought, and many others did off here in stock. Although it was a while ago. They've had no problems with my fully loaded 580 litre roofbox at motorway speeds.

I'm selling a set of Lidl bars if anyone wants them.

Only put them on the car to see if they fit (which they do). Never used them other than that.
