Just won a double din....

Hope its a good un !

Small faults reported (something to do with no BT and no Radio) but £90 delivered for a Pioneer avic f7010 bt !

Hey I'll live with no radio or BT for that kind of money but if it fixes then even better hopefully. Not sure til I have a good look at it.

What's the BT that's not working?  Radio not working either.  What functionality remains if both the BT and Radio are kaput?  Sorry, not up on these gadgets, but £90 is certainly a handsome price, so must be good in other respects.

Well. that would be CD, Navigation, DVD, etc. Yes I would hope they work otherwise it was sold in error !

Also it may be either firmware or a simple fix (or user error possibly, dunno).

Hope its a good un !

A quick internet search and....

- Possibly there's a bluetooth firmware fix/hack.

- I can't find this thing offered in Europe, only America/Canada. That might explain the radio issue as they're station are on different indexing. That might be fixable in software but - pfft - who knows how to do that!

Yep that might be it ! I was thinking the exact same thing, TBH.

Although pair it to some kind of digital radio (DAB) module and thats the radio sorted. I don't like to listen to radio a lot TBH as frankly, its s***e :)

( Can't get Kerrang Radio reliably anyway on my current good analogue Sony radio which is about all I can stand )

Its got SD card, + USB, which is already better than my ancient Sony CDX which only has an audio jack in !

I understand about the radio thing... Too much inane waffling and so called jokes.... that make you want to punch the dash..... Just play the bloody music.... No, not that, that's shoite!

Planet Rock on DAB on the bed side table. Can't get it in the car on FM unfortunately. :(

Apparently there's something a Pioneer shop may have called a Pioneer Service Remote. You may want to ask them if they can fix the radio indexing with that.

Knowing my luck a nice UK one will come along for a decent price !

Never seen any this low though which is reason for bidding....

Unless there's smoke coming out of the back of it, it must surely be a case of just having the correct firmware/microcode installed?

Hope thats all !

Not so easy dragging out the right firmware, as it transpires its a less common US model. Not a huge issue but means I may be digging and experimenting a bit.

Most important thing like you confirm, is that it works ! I will be happy bunny if I get BT working.

FM isn't the be all, and you can add digital for not a lot nowadays. Or a US to UK convertor/stepper but this has drawbacks, not sure I can be bothered.

Not sure I will rush to do that, just a more seamless connection for playing music digitally will be nice. If I don't get on with it as long as its working (all but FM) I could pass it on and at this price shouldn't lose a penny in the process !

Ok Heres the interesting bit

Its actually 710BT, not 7010BT, so somewhat an error in listing. So it must be a UK unit, so the FM possibly isn't due to the US, unless the wrong firmware loaded.

Still, I can't get FM. Indeed there seems on face value to be something odd about the phone/BT side like its not working either, could be s/w ?

Also they didn't send the receiver for GPS, or dual cage. I had to bodge cutting a single cage in 2 just for now, it kind of worked.

The good, I'm happy with the USB and function of the unit, and screen is perfect. So a mixed bag, kind of a bargain, depending on how well I can sort the other stuff.

In fairness it was a "quick install" and I think I may have missed some of the bypass wire for confirming the car is stopped so may be relevant.
