Spacers, on the rear only? 10 or 15mm?

Featured Replies

Right guys, seeing as I've seen the light and will now keep my VRS, I'm going to solve my main niggle with the car... Rear track being 20mm less than front!

Now I've lowered her on 35mm H&Rs and with 6000miles on them, they get better and better! Height is perfect, front end looks spot on, rear just a little lost.

Been onto Awesome, they have hub centric 10mm and 15mm in stock..... Have any of you guys experienced either? Is 10mm visible enough or so you recon 15mm the better option?

Ideally, in my head 10mm... But not worth it if can't visibly tell.

Any thought? Any pics please?

Mike

Haven't got any pics but 10mm would be my advice.

I've got 10mm on the front of my fl, porsche brakes required them.

I was quite surprised how much difference it made to the width. Looks lots more than 10mm

Thanks mate, yeh like idea of 10mm.. Evens it up! Shame Skoda didn't do this in first place!

Just hope its noticable...

I have 15mm rear & 10mm front never been an issue in 50,000 miles.

Looks good

For 10mm spacers on the rear you'd need to measure your rear hub lip prior to fitting to make sure that 10mm spacers would fit over it.

Thanks Damian, so does that mean the ones if have seen, 10mm hubcentric specifically for the Octavia MK2 may not fit?

Feel a bit confused now?

Put 10mm on mine, looked fine then in a moment of madness i put 15mm on, didnt look right so have gone back to 10

Cheers

It will depend what brand you go for and as mentioned the size of your rear hub lip.

Thinking about it mine are maybe 12mm, remember looking at it and wondering how an extra 3mm could look so wrong!. Anyway they are H and R hubcentric

Hi Damian,

Thanks for this, but the comment doesn't help? are you saying that the rear hubs differ? Is have thought if a part was designed to fit my car, then it would fit??

So if I buy for example H&R hubcentric spacers in 10mm, for Octavia VRS.. Are you saying they may not fit over the hub lip?????

What I'm trying to say with the comment is that fitment of the 10mm spacers will depend on your hub lip size. The best thing to do is to measure your rear hub lip and then you'll know what size spacer will fit.

The rear hub lip is bigger then the front but the actual size can depend on model spec and year.

If the hub lip is any bigger then 12mm then the H&R 10mm spacers won't fit correctly.

Thanks Damian, that makes things clearer.

So am I better of buying 12mm, or is issue likely to be the same?
