Interior Lights

Featured Replies

Got a new bulb for my passengers puddle light this morning and fitted it at arond 12ish this afternoon

Put lights on and opened door but it didnt seem to illuminate.  Checked drivers door and that also did not illuminate.

Started flicking the switch for interior light(s) 2 outer switches did nothing and the main light also does nothing.

Previously the centre lights would work (however would not work on door open). and pretty sure drivers puddle light would work.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Obviously first call is fuse, which fuse am i looking for... cannot find my dealer book pack anywhere.

I am not sure .. how it looks like, but I think you've used a C10W. Try switching the polarity by flipping the bulb. About the fuse, it might be 30 if my memory is not faulty (I wish I'd had ECC memory :dull:).

Will flip passenger puddle light and see what happens.

Before fitting this, main interior light would work (only on forced light not door open) both maps light would work and I am pretty sure the drivers puddle light did work.

@TMB: I am aware of that, but I recently helped a friend to replace his headlight bulb (dipped beam) for his MK1 Superb. By mistake, I fitted the bulb incorrectly and after that, the side light wouldn't light. I flipped the headlight bulb and the side light went on again. IMO, they are not individually connected and this is why the polarity might make the difference.

Tried disconnecting the whole passengers puddle light, still no luck.

Will try fuse on my break.

fuse 4 = blown

Interior light fuse popped.

Going down to halfords after work to pickup a big box of fuses (just incase) so fingers crossed all will be good afterwards.

Fuse changed, all good now :)

Brain wasn't working properly though...

Had switch covering the door open icon and i kept wondering

"Why is the light not going out????"

Then realised what I had done... moved to cover always on and tada :fail!:
