BAD day

Featured Replies

Just saying... replacing window regulator plastic clips on a mk1 is a total ARSE of a job!!

being a total hammerhands I also managed to dislodge my interior door locking stem, (Praying) that's its only dislodged and not broken as I wait for my dad to bring over his torque bits so I can remove the locking mechanism.

:dull:

Most jobs removing door cards can be abit of a pain but once you've done it the next time is easy :)

As for the locking pin, they are designed to be awkward! :D

My locking pin broke when I done mine. I'm just going to glue it in the door card. It's useless anyway.

And now all rebuilt and working thank god, was quoted a little short of £280 for this to be done by a local garage, i did it for £6 of parts and some elbow grease :P .

I hope you managed to donate some DNA as well, I rarely get away without leaving forensic evidence at the scene when I do window regulators or door locks, it's a higher form of self-harming.

Lol, well I donated half a fingernail and some index finger skin whilst trying to get the wire rope in the regulator back together if that counts :p

I attempted this a few years back and just gave up!  Bought the whole thing (rather than a repair kit) from ECP for about £25/30.  Was worth it as I'd be cursing all day long trying to get the wire rope back round the various pulleys!

broken FG Fabia FTMFW :D

When I threw the door card across the driveway, I decided that was the appropriate time to walk away from this job and calm down a bit.
