Stupid Question - What to expect from a 1st Service?

Featured Replies

Yes, I know it's a silly question  :D

However, this is my first "service from a dealer", and my Diesel vRS is about to go in for it's 10K "lubrication service" (oo-er!) - Having heard a few dodgy things from Rainworth, I want to make sure I don't get short changed.

The car was purchased elsewhere, and annoyingly I can head back to Wales to get it done there..... but I have a few things on my list of bits to do:

- Update the Sat Nav (still on original software)

- Fix a bit of loose trim on the back seat (where the button is pushed in to release the seat)

Would it be reasonable to ask for these to be done whilst in for the service (they are already fitting the clip behind the dash to stop the rattle in Sport mode) and is a valet normally done as well?

I'd just tell them before had you want those bits looking at and if you value your car at all then don't let them wash it.

I'm not sure they'll update the SatNav - that is supposed to be a user operation.  If they do, then all credit to them...

The other things are items you wouldn't be expected to fix yourself, and so a dealer should do them for you.

Oil and oil filter change will be about your lot
