Help!!!!

Can anyone tell me why the radio on my felicia only works with the lights on? It was an after market HU that was it in but it was taken by the previous owner, so today I attemped to fit my own HU. I've tried all the wires and the only way it will work is when the side lights are on.

Any ideas? I have a feeling that there is no main power wire, yet there is 3 wires the are live/neg related. The colours I have are Red and yellow and brown that had been taped together.

Lummux?? Help matey :D

Sounds like someone has wired it into the original illumination wire down to the stereo not the perm live.

All Felicia stereos are wired perm live from factory.

Run your own little live wire from battery to HU space?

I'm not going to say anymore as me and wiring don't usually mix well. :o BANG! Oh, another fuse gone. :D

No need to come from the battery, just come from the igniton switch if needs be.

Aye - there was me taking the more brutal way. With a tester I guess you can pick your wire to tap into.

For some reason I have this image of a 4awg wire coming off the battery, 80amp fuseholder, then going into the HU wiring. :o I must lay off the Fosters a bit more. :drunk:

Cheers matey(s) I thought this was the case  I 'll try to have another go tomorrow, if my knuckles are better as I've seem to taken the odd lump out of them here and there! I get the feeling cars dont like me! :D

I'll have a look for the ignition switch and see if I can wire it from there like you said if not I'll try Jay's way

See if you can find the original connector for the factory h/u.
