Fitting Double Din Stereo with bluetooth

Featured Replies

Afternoon guys, got myself a new Sony Double din head unit with Bluetooth but having some troubles fitting it. I have cut away the plastic at the back of the hole and when i try to fit the cage it still won't fit flush, any ideas? Also i need to route a Bluetooth microphone somewhere in the car, where is easiest to put it, and how do i get it there?

Cheers in advance.

Hi mate i have just fitted double din and i pulled the mic through the back and fed the wire up side of centre console.... pm me your number and il send pics as i cant upload pics via my mobile.

Am i right in thinking i don't need to buy a golf mk4 fitting kit? I've read online and seen i might need one, but just presumed the cage that came with the stereo is all i need?

I used the cage that came with it and the surround that came with. But each stereo will probably be different

i cant get my cage to fit flush, it still sticks out even with h bar at back cut out

My cage got caught alot so i bent it in at sides and top and bottom and forced it in seperate from stereo then i pushed it all straight and flush again then pushed in stereo to make it nice and snug.

I just fitted my double din today with a cage that looks identical to yours, my cage kept catching the last square cutout hole to the left as I tried to slot it in, I found by pressing the plastic away from the cage when I was sliding it in gave just enough clearance for the cage to slide fully home, hope this helps mate

so i dont need to cut anything else away or buy anything else? tried properly hard to make it fit but wont budge once it gets to a certain point.

No it should fit, although it is a very tight fit, I didn't even need to cut the h bar

Brute force and ignorance is needed

I mounted my microphone up next to the centre light/sunroof switch.  Routed the cable across the centre console, up the A-pillar trim and then over the roof lining, popping down at the edge of the switch assembly.
