Android DVD player instead of the oem Bolero

Featured Replies

I am looking to replace my Bolero radio with one of those Android DVD player radio (with cellular internet, etc)

The problem is that all the models I saw online are not suited to the 2014 Yeti (post face-lift) centre console shape.

The front face is more square, whereas the 2014 Bolero is more trapezoid in shape and a bit wider.

Does anyone have the experience with such a project or any specific model recommendation ?

Many thanks,

J

I don't think the Bolero unit has changed shape.

I'm guessing you might not be in the UK?

Which android are you replacing it with? All I want is car mounted Google maps.

try Erisin, I have had them in my last 3 cars and have been very happy

I've just fit a Bolero from a 2012 in my 2014 Yeti and is was a straight swop, same size so units fitting older models should fit no problem.

I looked at a couple of Erisin units but there's quite a lot of bad reviews out there especially about radio reception. How was your's in this respect?

you need the correct adapters as the VAG antennas are a bit strange, but with the adapters in mine works great.

If you do go down this path and need help just give me a shout

Did you get the dual adapter? The head units look like great value - which model have you got?

not got the dual adapter as the model I have has TMC so is a bit complex, I have 1278 I think so have a power injector for each antenna and one booster for each one. all works well.
