Help changing instument pod are they coded to ecu?

Hi Guys

Just bought estate no engine, used my hatch as donner both ATD lumps used gearbox and clutch off estate as 49k my box 123k + worn clutch.

 

Speedo was not working on new car just changed gearbox drive sensor (it worked on my old box) still no speedo just changed instrument pod car started but dies immediately,  car with spanner symbol shown ? put original pod back car runs normal but obviously no speedo.

 

Q are the pods coded

Yes the immobiliser is built into instrument panel and needs coding to match ecu, you need the skc code and vcds to do this.
