New grille surround for vrs

Featured Replies

Ok guys, after much thought have decided to get the black grille surround. I should have just got the black pack when ordering the vrs but have regretted it ever since so just ordered the black surround from my dealer.

Question is should i take whole bumper off or just break the chrome one? Thoughts?

Steve

Get the sledgehammer and chisel out, you know you want to :)

Seriously though, if you don't think you are going to need the chrome surround again why go to the hassle of taking the whole bumper off?

There are tabs on the surround and tabs on the grill itself... I removed the bumper so I didn't break either.

Thanks guys, yes my concern possibly is damaging the grill itself if I take the brute force route on the surround but my other concern is taking the whole bumper off.. I saw someone else's pics and it looked pretty scary! Maybe I should just get the dealer to do it?

Steve

I broke off my chrome surround.. took about 15 min. just be careful. have a go and if you get stuck let the dealer do it as a last restort

Where did you put the chisel/screwdriver? I assuming the new surround just clips into place?

Steve

Hi i started off at the top used flat head screw driver and a couple of kitchen knifes. use towel / masking tape to protect paint work. you can put though a long screw driver though  the grill to break the bottom clips.

How much does the dealer charge for parts alone and how much to fit?

Good luck!!

The part is £43 not sure about fitting awaiting a quote.
