Fitted LEDs to Octavia mk2

Featured Replies

I have just fitted LEDs to the interior of my Octavia mk2 so I thought I would post the sizes of bulbs I used to help others. I had no issues with these sizes, all fitting nice and snugly.

Glovebox light: 31-32mm festoon

2 door lights: 38mm festoon

Overhead light front: 44mm festoon plus 2 single w5w bulbs

Overhead light rear: 44mm festoon

2 boot lights and 4 footwell lights: single w5w in each.

I also fitted number plate lights using 38mm festoon bulbs (with canbus error cancellers).

I didn't do the sidelights as these are known to be problematic with the monitoring system and I already have LED DRLs and also Phillips Bluevision side light bulbs, so saw no benefit.

This all cost me less than 20 quid using fizzmo on eBay too.

I only have the front indicators left to LED so am going to look around, but being an FL it may be more sensitive.

I wanted to do the puddle lights but couldn't get the plastic cover off!!

For the puddle lights you have to remove the mirror glass then access the bulb from above.

I changed mine to LED.

Footwell lights? are these retro fit? Do you have any pictures of the finished work? looked at doing mine but wanted to see the completed look first.

Yes retrofit. There's a whole thread on it with loads of pictures somewhere in this section. I have no pictures sorry but can take some when dark.

Thanks mate. I had two left over w5w from my interior project so just popped them in. I covered the light sensor and tested them, and they work fine. Mine were very easy to fit, I just had to whip off the mirror covers and the bulb holders were easily accessible.

Just upgraded all mine to led'z all working fine apart from number plate ones

I got the error free bulbs but for some reason my octy II, showed the fault an shuts the lights off. /:

Could you post the link of the ones you used for the plates please thanks
