Bestline engine oil treatment?

Featured Replies

Hey everyone

Stumbled across this stuff when looking into lubricants for something else... (Bestline engine treatment), it appears to do great things when it comes to reducing friction and claims to improve fuel economy. Its an American product and isn't available in Europe at the moment. Its basically an additive that you mix with engine oil. I don't know anything about the company or how long its been around but it has good reviews on Amazon.com

I was watching a few videos on youtube, both a paid advertisement American shopping channel style, and a private one by someone that runs his own garage in New York i think.

The results look amazing, judging by the tests in the videos.

I've contacted the company, and although they don't have a UK/Europe distributor, they are willing to ship internationally if I want some.

It looks like really effective stuff and reasonably priced. I might try it but still a bit wary of putting it in my engine.

Another Molyslip variant, count me out, people seem to forget that all the engine bearings float on a pressurised oil film and it doesn't matter how slippery it is, it's the pressure that's important. There is almost no metal to metal contact in an engine, just the tappets and the cam lobes. The problem with additives is that they can 'clump' and block small jets like those that squirt under the piston crown.

It doesn't state whats its made of on their website, only "MLT" micro lubrication technology.

I found my way to it when looking at another product called Nano-oil by StClaire. That product is a similar thing i believe, it claims it uses nano bearings which are basically tiny microscopic particles of carbon called fullerenes. That product claims to not have PTFE, Moly or any solvents. They do an engine treatment as well, but its expensive.

Dude, at best it's going to do no harm, but really, why would mixing carbon buckyballs with your engine oil help anything?

Re-bottled snake oil....

I belive jts amazing. I used it on my fiat stilo 1.4 and was on 170000 miles and still running smooth and quiet. also saved my gearbox at 95k and still ok at 170000.

use it on my fabia vrs too. gor rid of my tapety noise. wouldnt belive in mpg part really. just better for lubricanting

Why not just use a decent oil and change it regularly -

Appreciate this article doesn't relate directly to bestline but certainly makes interesting reading

It is relevant, thanks Ash, I hadn't read that before, the important thing is that it tells you that there is no area of engine protection which has been neglected by the manufacturer, the idea that the engine is wearing unnaturally quickly is a marketing trick, in other words - a lie, your engine is absolutely fine without this guff, and as the old saying goes - if it ain't broke DON'T try and fix it. Count me out, I'll draw the line at injector cleaners which can be of some use and cooling system flushants which can also be of some use.
