DRL via low beam

Featured Replies

I've an octavia a5 fl. It has no fog light. I decided to activate DRL via low beam. I pluged in my VCDS and I realised that this feature is already on. I played with settings (long codig)and evrytime I have no DRL's. Should I enter Security Access code for block 09 or not. Unfortunatly I've no auto scan files to show. The chineese cable is working (activated auto-locking). It Adaptation i've nothing about DRL.

Sorry for my English.

What mode are the DRLs on?

Is it the American DRL setting? If so they only come on when the handbrake is released.

Yes, Cable is fake(CAN+HEX-COM->USB  :notme:  (Magic FTDI chip )). But It worked. Before starting an engine, (key position - ACC), hold High Beam and turn right until car beeps. After that DRLs are activated. But if you have Maxidot - you can do it in menu.

You just need to go in via long coding:

  • Select Control Module - Cent Elec 09
  • With the controller open select Coding 07
  • From this screen you'll need to select Long Coding Helper
  • We have to change Byte 23, Bit 2 and Bit 3-4. Bit 2 simply requires a tick in the check box and Bit 3-4 is a drop down list where you should select 08 Turn Lights via Fog Lights

Just seen on the OP that he said fl so ignore my post then! :)
