My parents have just called me after an 8 hour drive to St ives in Cornwall to tell me they have a problem with their trusted Citroen Picasso 1.6 HDi

They have had it from new, & besides general wear & tear they have not had many issues.

Anyway, to the point. They travelled most if their journey to find a progressively worse problem of black smoke from the exhaust.

My first incination is EGR valve, but it could be a fuel / air problem. So needs a good garage to diagnose.

So here is my cry for help.

Any Briskodians in the SW / Cornwall area who can recommend a good garage to diagnose & fix

Anyone in the South West?

Need to get this sorted before their return journey next week.

I don't know any indy's down that way, but further up towards Falmouth is my mate Dave @ Cornwall Autogas. I've been going to him for about 12 years now and send everyone there cos he's cheap and knows his stuff.

Thanks will let them know. They tend to drive a fair bit when in Cornwall so don't think that would put them off.

An hour or so North but could call in on the way home

Have you got this sorted yet? I can make a phone call in the morning and ask a friend who operates a coach firm down there if he can suggest anyone. He's in Redruth.
