Park Pilot not working

Featured Replies

My new 2014 model Octavia estate has been faultless since I bought it 2 months ago.

However this morning the park pilot failed to activate when i put the car in reverse.

I've turned the engine on and off a few times before driving to work in the hope it might reset it'self, but no joy.

I have just fired it up again in the works car park and it's still not working.

Does anyone have any suggestions to reset it before I go to the local Skoda dealer?

The car is a 2.0 diesel.

Cheers,

Simon.

Are your reverse lights working?

Fuse?

No, they're not, and the rear wiper doesn't come on when reverse is selected, so it must be a fuse, however the handbook doesn't seem to list a fuse that covers these items.

I've managed 35 years without parking sensors, but I've come to rely on them so much already that I managed to give my wife's car a little tap this morning  :dull:

I suspect it's the reverse gear micro switch on the gearbox that's failed. Just book it into your dealer.

Tailgate not shut properly?

That used to be the case on MkII when the rear wiper stopped working - it was because the micro-switch for the tailgate had failed.

But this does sound like a fuse issue.

Booked in already, but I've got to wait 'til the 22nd.

It's always nice to be able to fix something yourself though.

Thanks for all the replies.
