Does anyone know where I can get the drivers side front end cap for my roof rails as mine came off somewhere between Lancaster and Barrow in Furness on Saturday.

Alternatively what gaps would I be left with if I took the roof rails off as I only put a roof rack on a couple of time a year?

I would think a dealer or TPS will be cheap enough. I smashed the tweeter cover on the drivers door and a replacement was only about £3.

Oh, to take the roof rails off you need to remove the headlining, which is a pain. You then need to change the plastic gutter strips to cover the holes and getting a proper watertight seal wouldn't be easy.

Have you done this?  I'm wanting to go the other way - to fit roof rails to an Ambiente which has continuous fill strips.

No, something was leaking on my old mkI and the dealer removed the rails and half the interior trying to sort it, so I saw what was involved.
