MOT today

Featured Replies

Hate this day.

Sure im not the only one who bricks it lol

Yeah - hate MOT time too - been lucky for the past 2 years though - only 2 new tyres needed to get through it. :notme:

Did have advisory on front brake disks both years (excessive corrosion) but finally got round to buying replacement discs and pads to replace them :giggle: just got to find the time to do it

I'd rather go to the dentist than have an MOT, and I so hate dentists. Good luck mate.

35 mins till judgement day.

I think with me its the fear of it failing then how much its going to cost to repair, how long the repairs will take and how long i will have to borrow my mums zafira for lol

OMG - not a Zafira - anything but a Zafira

The more I make it clear I do my own work on my car the less it fails on...

I do most work myself and only take it to a garage if i dont have the tools. Or if the time involved is to much. Servicing, brakes etc.. I always do.

Always gotta wonder when people say they need shocks again, or brake pipes... how many times they are really a fail!

I use the council station now, don't trust bloody garages!

Howd it go with those wishbones

Also hate MOTs, but a well maintained car should always pass.

Advised.

The car passed. Advisorys on wishbone bushes deteriorated but not resulting in excessive movement

Same on anti-roll bar D-bush both sides

And offside rear flexi to brake cylinder slightly corroded.

Well I guess that means you've got a few jobs to fix and sort out , then 11 months or so before you get the 'cold sweets' again

Mines due on 15th and as far as i know only need 2 front tyres to replace my slicks but need to get paid and do my waterpump/cambelt first lol

Mines on Monday 8:30am, hope it passes as I need to drive it to Manchester airport on Thursday to go on holiday!

I've been lucky up to now with silly bits, tyres, bulbs etc so I'm just waiting for the big/expensive bits to come up next!! :(

Very true, the MOT standard is not too far above scrap.

A good friend of mine has a 1973 vw camper. Hes happy if his mot bill is less than £600. This year it was £3270
