Vrs mufflerectomy pigeon noise

Featured Replies

I've had a mufflerectomy done today but it doesn't make the pigeon noise. Could my car be blocked. It's been I bit flat from 2500-3500 recently. But if I boot it I get a lot of soot on the tip and then it will boost normally again for a bit. Thanks

I've got a straight through piper exhaust, zero silencers and no cat. It makes the owl noise very loudly every gear change!

Mine has just the cat but doesn't make the noise for some reason

I was told its a side effect of certain turbos. Some do it some don't.

I had a decat and straight through piper and it didn't do it with a hybrid turbo.

New turbo on now, but not currently have the silencer again

Cat?

I've come across similar info about some do and don't as DarkHero.

Mine sounds nothing like an owl, thankfully, but still sounds good from inside on WOT :)

I have a miltek decat with mufflerectomy and it owled on my 150 hybrid but it wasn't too loud I now run a 1756 with the same exhaust and the owl is soo loud on every gear change it's just annoying.

Mine is just straight through makes the pigeon noise I liked it for first week now it's driving me crazy

I have a Piper cat back 0 silencer setup (which I guess in some ways is very similar to a mufflerectomy) and mine does make the owl noise.

I can't say it's very loud, but can definitely be heard in built up areas with the windows down when changing gear.

Don't think it doesn't it without decat as well

I'll do a recording now and after with a standard pd130 and then again when hybrid.

Thank god mine doesn't and never has made this horrid noise!! I've had several configurations of exhaust, cat, air filter and turbo on the car, and it's never happened.

I always used to think that it would sound quite cool.... until I heard it in person! :D
