Thinking of Buying a VRS

Featured Replies

Over the last year I've been thinking of buying a Fabia VRS, now I'm in a situation to buy one I wanted some advice if you guys didn't mind pointing a new guy in the right direction.

Looking at a mk1 VRS, so obviously will be diesel pd130.

Higher milers - are they worth buying? (Bare in mind I will be doing at least a stage 1.)

Suspension - whats the best suspension setup? (I wouldnt really be looking into air - mainly static - again, bare in mind I am used to extremely stiff rides after my 106)

Performance - whats a decent figure I could look at without big bucks?

That's all I can remember for now, may have more for you lot later [emoji13].

Buy on condition and history NOT mileage!

Just get it remapped and you'll be happy, we don't do figures here because they're meaningless rubbish.

To be honest I've always thought figures were rubbish it's just good to have a figure in your head.

What should I look for in a high miler?

If my situation is still the same when I buy, I wouldnt be doing stupid miles because I get the train to work because of parking costs.

Also, it might sound a bit stupid, but I don't think I could ever drive a car that isn't lowered, arch gap just drives me up the wall. I was reading a thread on here saying AP's are the best for the price and to keep away from JOM?

You read right, JOM's are the path to ruinous handling and internal bleeding and organ failure.

If you get a stock car remapped you'll have about 175 BHP.

A high miler needs an immaculate history and to be in immaculate condition.

I've been running jom for the past year my back is ruined lol

Suspension:

I'd look at AP coilovers (good enough and not very expensive) and a rear Anti Roll Bar.

Remap does make them quite brisk.

As said, condition and history more important than age or miles.

Have a look in the For Sale section, Bossfox has a couple for sale, both well sorted cars.
