Fabia to citigo?

Featured Replies

I currently own a finance free 2010 Fabia 1.6cr 105 elegance with a few extras,45k FskodaSH, but I'm tempted by the offers for the Citigo black, small dep and £99 per month, I'm thinking I should be able to make the dep and 36/42 payments from the sale of the Fabia, which I like a lot btw, I like the mpg, small size, looks but I like the idea of a new car with warranty

It's used as a too and from work vehicle 25 miles each way mainly A/B roads as we own a very nice X-trail for longer journeys

My question is, will I be disappointed...

As someone who was similarly tempted away from his much-loved, 2009 Roomster....

And as someone who has avidly followed this thread:

....my opinion is:

If you get a Citigo without a clutch click, you will love it.

If you get a Citigo with a clutch click, you will hate it.

I'm not prepared to take the risk.

Clutch Click.........none for me.

To be honest, you'll not need much more from a car. It's a city car that is just at home on the motorway as it is around town. Travelled to the Cotswold in it, and also a trip to Yorkshire.

Ok it's not as powerful at your fabia and you will notice it. But it's not a bad car. I'm very happy with mine.

Only driven CityGo's as loan cars, although one I had for a few days and managed to cover some miles. Decided the car was not for me. Compared to our Fabia HTP 70 and TSI 86, then the Go had very little go and needed to be worked fairly hard, the seat was not that comfortable and in general it felt rather tinny, particularly with rain hitting the roof.

Would wait for the new Fabia III TSI (avoid the same CGo 1ltr engine that is replacing the excellent HTP), or get a Spaceback IMHO.

TP

I am very happy with mine so far. Now done 4500 miles and no clutch click. If it is a characteristic should I complain it is missing?

Wife went from a MKII Fabia Vrs to a CitiGo 75 Elegance 5 door manual. It's a dream, fantastic around town, holds it own on the Motorway, no road tax, it's like the Tardis inside, oodles of room, comfortable, drives like a go cart and fantastic MPG and it's called Eric

What you will miss is a distinct lack of "Go" compared to a 1.6 cr 105.

I have a test drive booked for Sunday to see for myself, I sat in one at the weekend and was amazed at the room even for a big lump like me

You're right about the room.

I was about to put my Son on our insurance to drive our Yeti,so he could drive us ,plus all our luggage, to the airport.

My wife suggested I see if we can get it all in his Citigo.

We can,easily.

2 large men,1 wife,1 Springer,2 large suitcases(the kind with 4 wheels on the bottom.)

Plus all our hand luggage and a bit of room to spare...
