heaters not getting hot

Featured Replies

hi all,

recently had my dashboard out trimming various bits, and now the heaters don't get hot. they all work etc apart from this. when i was tidying the car up after, i found a oblong shaped fuse (as oposed to the ones that would go in the fuse box), so i'm assuming this has fell out from somewhere, but does anyone know where? if it's not this, what else could it be?

it was only the bottom half of the dash that was out, so im thinking it can only be a limited number of things that have caused this. if anyone has any suggestions let me know as i really need to get this sorted.

thanks.

Is the blower working?

You haven't given the model/year. Is the temperature control a rotary knob?

It doesn't matter, they all work the same way, the heater matrix is permanently hot and the temperature is controlled by a motorised flap, sounds like you may have disturbed the wiring or knocked a fuse out or the airbox somewhere.

as I said i found a fuse on the floor but it wasnt from the fusebox. As its completely different. Any idea where its from?

No idea I'm afraid, but the problem has to electrical, suggest you remove the lower dash again and retrace your steps.

That looks more like a bulb than a fuse. What is written on it? Is there a wattage?
