Noise from boot area (again)

Featured Replies

The other day I was putting the painters dust sheet back in the boot to protect the boot floor from water and other things damaging the carpet when prams and other stuff is loaded in and out. During doing this I banged on the floor just behind the rear seat on the left side. The noise it made sounded like an empty steel drum, so I did it right along to the other side, and the awful tiny noise was still there. If you bang from the rear seat out, it dose it for a good 10/11 inches. The worst bit is, there is factory sound deadening there too. This did make me wonder, is this the actual noise problem cause that all mk2 octavias suffer from.

My pre f/l had exactly the same! Not sure about my new one. I'll have to check...

Cheers dave, it would be interesting to know if the FL does it or skoda have fixed it. I've had the car from new and never noticed it, but I don't have a habit of banging in the boot lol.
