What to do about new vacuum solenoid block?

Featured Replies

Pretty sure mine is goosed ... car starts to drive badly (low boost), turn off, give it (solenoid block) a whack, there's a release of pressure (or vacuum) start up and its as good as new for a few days, then starts to lose boost again.

So I decided to buy a new one but they are currently £171.86 + VAT at TPS and at Dealers.

I've tried a second hand one off ebay for £30 but it doesn't fit my car (different connector plug).

Open to ideas and help people!?!

take a look inside and see if you can swap the internals over   they  draw air from the filter ---maybe it's just gummed up  if the pipes come off or broken

What year is your model as they are different from the early to late model BLT engined vRS', chances are you got one from the other model.

Think they're sealed units? Remember someone on here saying they had to go at it with a grinder to get to the internals!!!

I'll check my pipes as well before I stump up £200!
