Alas it seems the 1.8t thing has been done to death now, or at least talked about to death for some.. I fancy something a little bit more out of the ordinary.

There are a few 1.8t conversions on the way in Fabias.

If you want to do something a bit unusual you are probably left looking at rarer engine conversions.

Assuming you don't want to add 4x4.

 

The 2.0 TSI or TFSI would be my choice.

 

Well, really it would be a 2.5 TFSI but getting one of those engines at a sensible price is pretty impossible.

Or the running gear from a Mitsi EVO for a top bodger like yourself.

Would an old Audi 2.6 Lump be any good? If not then it'd be the choices as said above by Richard

Unit 18 didn't release too much info about the car as it was a prospective conversion money maker

Unit 18 did one a while back but there isn't a huge amount of info out there.  I've seen a few pictures.

Tech1e knows more about it as he has more contact with them.

That's an interesting colour....

 

Deserving of a viper V10 driving the back wheels.

I had a trip in that very Unit18 creation recently, silly quick and more bhp than quoted in the link above now. Very nice indeed.

I know the engine has low tuning potential, but I always thought a V5 Fabia would be pretty epic fun.

Love the 5 cylinder warble and the engines are available, unlike the 2.5 TFSI apparently.

My boss, while looking at the haynes manual that arrived today, commented regarding the colour of the car on the cover. I sent him a picture of a Fantasy Green Fabia and was informed that I would have to park it round the corner or be fired.

 

He's the type of guy that would probably do it to see just what happened at the tribunal

 

The orange one didn't fare much better :(

I like the idea of the v5 engines, there is so much untapped potential there, and alas they are cheap to get hold of too..... Thinking....
