USB Din Panel

Featured Replies

Hi Everyone,

My first post to the forum after recently getting an a TDi estate.

I was wondering if anyone has made any custom panels for USB charging ports. I was thinking of panel mounting a couple into a blank din panel and replacing the din pocket under my HU. The downside would be cables hanging from the dash.....

Anyone have any photos or ideas of other USB sockets?

Cheers,

Sam

Nice idea. Don't know how hard it would be but if you don't use the ash tray might be a neater install to run some in there? Hidden when not in use then as well...

I like the ash tray idea!

I use an adapter that plugs into the cigarette lighter socket. When in use the cable coming out from under the arm rest does not get in the way like a cable coming from the dash. Socket hidden from view under the arm rest when not in use.

I fitted a USB socket into the side of the small shelf below the steering wheel.

This is the same socket installed in my Citigo;

It is the same size as a cigarette socket so you could replace the socket in the rear of the Octavia centre console.

I have exactly the same thing in mine. I got it for a couple of quid off ebay.
