Octavia tdi cutting out at roundabouts

What I will do is try driving up to one of the roundabouts it's happened at and deliberately stall it by leaving clutch up too long before stopping and see if the car reacts the same as when it's cut out before as it has just died unlike if I have stalled cars before, if it is different at least I will know for sure that it's not my driving

I would save the scan and then clear the codes and see what comes back.

Looks like you may well require a new alarm module - the internal batteries go after about 6 years and cause issues - can result in flat main battery if you are unlucky - use search as it has been discussed a number of times.

Those central electrics errors may suggest that you have a damp central electrics module, but could also mean that the car has been on with the rear clusters removed, so clear them and see if anything comes back.

Other things that could cause stall issues like that are the lift pump in the tank and the tandem pump which acts as a fuel pump and vacuum pump.

If there was a relay 109 issue I'd expect some other electrical errors probably on the Engine ECU and possibly loss of communication in the ABS ECU.

Trying to find info on this and searched "alarm module stalling" "alarm module symptoms" and "alarm module cutting out" but can't seem to find anything , could you tell me what to put in the search please

The alarm fault codes having nothing to do with the stalling. Does the alarm work?

As far as I know it still works, indicators flash when I lock and unlock the car but have not checked if it works or not. I thought that was what gti jazz was saying as I have not mentioned the alarm, I did have a problem months ago with it going off randomly but been ok since

Lock the car with one window open then stick your arm in a wave it around. The indicators should work but the siren nay not.

Tried locking the car with one press of the button put my arm in the passenger window and moved it around near rear view mirror for about 20 seconds and nothing, no noise or indicators flashing, double presses the button and still the same

Will try again tomorrow

Sorry didn't intend to imply that the Alarm issue will cause the car to stall. Was just in reference to the alarm fault listed. Apologies if I misled you there.

Does it make any difference as to how much fuel you have in the tank at all, i.e. is it always when the tank is low, or doesn't make any difference and it has stalled with a full tank ?

No problem any input is appreciated. It's happened when tank is low and almost full, never usually gets much lower than a quarter tank.

Someone mentioned relay 109 a while ago and have googled it and seems similar to symptoms I have so trying to get one to try replacing mine, only about £15 so worth a try I suppose

No harm I guess.

OK that probably rules out the tank lift pump then.

Would it be worthwhile taking the car to an auto electrician, don't mind spending money on them if they are likely to find the fault but don't want to waste money for no result. I would guess they should find more than a dealer would as it looks like it is an electrical problem
