  • The depreciation is the same though no matter if cash or PCP. If you paid £20k for a polo GTI and drive it for 4 years then sold it for 10k..... You've still "lost" 10k with "nothing to show" for it

  • Peugeot were adamant no GTI badeg ever again.  remember the 208 GTi launch.   Ford dumped the RS badge after the dissapointment of the RS1800 and RS2000, remember the mk1 focus RS coming back same h

  • Nice to see a Reviewer that seems to know about cars & the previous model.   & maybe not reviewing in a way that is up VW's backside. http://pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=31279

Much as the Polo GTI 1.8 TSI Facelift & re-engine mechanics i would think,

(the same or similar low down, other than body and interior & price.)

The Audi A1 Facelift 2015 1.8TFSI 192 bhp S-tronic.

Maybe someone can say please what the Dude is saying while down low in front of a A1 1.4 TFSI.

Is this a new VAG marketing plan George-BullS...in any language you like.

A good sales person can sell you anything.

My dealer tells me that showroom / demo due in February.

Presumably New Owner cars are due in for March registration.

The 'Driven' article on the Ford Focus ST TDCI Estate is a bit more in depth.

The Polo GTI stuff is same old.

12 week wait for a factory order

So it may be a success by keeping things simple. Good quality small hatch . Fun to drive, time will tell. Manual or DSG?

Better value package than Audi S1?

What do you think?

If only we had an equivalent Fabia vRS to compare and contrast.

I've ordered a 5 door in Red with a manual box. Dealer has quoted 12 weeks minimum for delivery. The dealer hasn't even got a car in to test drive

Would like to have a blast in the new polo GTI. Wouldn't mind trying the manual box

Post up some pics when you get the beast ;-)

Yeah will do I'm loving the look of it. Sold my Fiesta ST now. I'm like a kid waiting for Chritmas haha.

I don't do PCP but the dealer I get my VW from are doing £1000 down then £229 a month for the GTI and 1 year free insurance for over 25s

That's a pretty decent deal. Makes the quotes I've seen people get for a new mk3 Fabia seem laughable!

Are you sure, cheapest I can get on the solutions calculator is 213/month but that's with 1885 down plus 1000 vw contribution, 5k miles a year over 48months?

The online configurator will be just going off list price tho, I'd imagine this offer includes some dealer discount on top.

Have a look at Barnetts VW. Not to bad if people want PCP with a grand down

Yeah I'm sure. Check out Barnett VW I'm sure a little negotiation can get that price down further

I know the solutions calculator will just work on the rrp and discounts are available on this but that's some price, what's the term and mileage for this deal?

Great when you are buying a Keeper that Franchised Dealership feel the need to Discount,

or on PCP etc.

But this is Volkswagen doing this with the Small Hatchback Halo model not yet available to sell.

VW Polo GTI 2015 1.8TSI.

So they must be doubtful on the desirability, and as for residuals, they kill them.

The Mk5 Polo GTI 1.4 TSI Twincharger 180ps sold less than half that of the Skoda Fabia vRS with the same engine Gearbox,

and only 3,000 of those sold in the UK.

VW must hope that few know of or remember the poor Residuals of the 2010-2014 models.

& as for 'Penetration of the Market'.

Mention of VW having any success in sales of the Polo GTI from 2010-2014 takes some spin and bare faced dishonesty.

Lets hope VW fix any Snagging faults quickly with the GTI 1.8TSI if there are any.

12 week Black Hole ordering seems odd,

Have they got the cars all sorted now for production i wonder, no Stop /Start issues or the likes?

I dont do pcp either. Im a believer that if i want something, I'll have to save n buy it.

That does look pretty good though, although i dont know much about pcp haha.

Can see why people do it. £230 a month for a polo gti. Not bad going is it really. Very affordable. Could do that very easily haha.

Is PCP the one where you give the car back at the end n have nothing to show for the money youve spent though? Or is that another?

On PCP I believe you pay a set fee every month for a set period, usually 36 or 48 months. After which time you can hand the car back, trade it in (It should have capital for a deposit if sticking to mileage) or you have a lump which you can pay and then keep the car.

The Deposit, Monthly & Insurance offer for 12 months all looks good. (never spotted the Mileage on the deal.)

VW are going to have to do offers like this to get them out there, seen and spoken about.

Low Prices on MK7 Golf R had them talked about lots while the offers lasted.

'Temporary Much Cheapness' now being the VWG Promotional Device of choice.

In there quick enough and you can be on a winner.

Pitty about 12 week plus waiting lists.

VW must be fairly confident on the residuals to offer a MGFV of £9200 at 4-years old. If they've got that wrong there will be plenty of punters handing them back at the end of the term leaving VWFS to pick up the tab.

The high MGFV results in the low monthly payment which is fantastic news for the "PCP renter" who doesn't care about keeping the car long term and will chop it in after a couple of years and move on.

I bet alot of the shopping-trolley spec mk3 Fabias are coming in at more than 229month with a 1k deposit. I know where my money would go! ;-)
