Car judders when I take my foot off the accelerator

Featured Replies

Hi,

My Skoda Felicia 1.6 2000 Estate judders when i take my foot off the accelerator, it usually happens in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. I am not braking when this happens it judders hard in 1st gear, like bounces.

Just wondering whats wrong? Obviously it's an old car and I am not an experienced driver (only 17), but I don't think this should be happening

Cheers Joe

Worn lower gearbox mount/bush?

It's most likely to get throttle body related

I might clean the throttle body as I have seen other forums with different cars which it has worked for, and I thought it was to do with the throttle body. Also HT leads have been suggested on other forums so might get some new ones and see if that works.

It is really annoying as it makes me look like a rubbish driver when its the car

don't buy anything blindly unless you have too much money and need backup ignition leads.

diagnose first and buy only when you find evidence.

when you take the foot off the accelerator, throttle plate closes and heavy vacuum is produced.

to me the judders indicate fuel starvation or a vacuum hose collapses/splits.

start by cleaning the TB and check all vacuum hoses by squeezing them inch by inch.

dirt and aged materials are first to cause problems.
