Rear Wiper Failure

Featured Replies

The wiper on my wife's Octavia has failed and is just sitting in the middle of its arc. After it happened I noticed that a lot of VAG cars seem to have the same problem.

Is there a simple fix?

have you checked the fuse?

Thanks Lee. Yes I have checked the fuse both visually and electrically.

Usually water ingress in the motor.  Cheap enough to find on ebay breakers etc.

Assuming it is a hatch.  The estate design is different and doesn't fail like this (as the washer jet pipe isn't routed through the motor)

Bung it.

Thanks guys. It is a hatch so I will check for water ingress. May well have killed itself as the washer motor works but no liquid emerges. Arg!

Very common problem on hatch cars.

****e design.

The water corrodes the insides of the motor asm and the electrics.
